How to NOT create trust with the end user

I've been doing some spying lately...seeing how others are doing it. What I have discovered has me seeing red. I see too many marketers out there just worrying about where they appear in the search engines. Take this last example...I sussed out what others were doing to promote the same clickbank item I am promoting. Sure enough, I landed on a squeeze page. (That's a page where you have to give your email addy to get a freebie ABC or XYZ...and they will market to you now til the cows come home, and then some).

So...off I went to peruse the free report. It wasn't very good. Anyways...after immediately unsubscribing, I went back to the site, now the squeeze page had my email addy, it let me in. Mmmm. Choice. Nice. Note the sarcasm?
The website was just a box in the middle with google ads, and links on the page that were totally unrelated. Click on those, lo and behold, more google ads. NO CONTENT!!!

Perhaps I'm being to harsh, perhaps it's still under construction. (Why let it be seen live then?). But it created absolutely no trust for me the end user, and left me running for them thar hills. However to their credit, I believe they were just doing what they had learned somewhere dodgy.

As a further snipe, I couldn't work out what they were selling/promoting, until the end of the free report. Even that was a guess, just a picture of a book with no call to action like Click Here etc.

And to think...a year ago when surfing...I kept finding Articles..and all I could think of was Why on earth are people writing Articles?! Me get it now...
