Vegas Confidential Report by Wealthy Affiliate

Have you checked out Wealthy Affiliate yet? I'm still a member there, and I still enjoy all the resources available there - this latest one is very, very exciting. Why? Well, for the 3rd year in a row, the guys that started up Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle & Carson, have run a competition within the forum at Wealthy Affiliate. What kind of competition I hear you ask? Mmmm well let's see. The prize is 3 days with them in Las Vegas, for one-on-one internet discussion, tuition, strategies and sharing of the minds with two masterminds (not to mention millionaires) on the internet.

This would be so very, very valuable to ANY internet marketer, in ANY field. What does one have to do to get there? Refer people to Wealthy Affiliate, and/or promote their ebooks, to a certain number. Easy peasy japanezi, right? Well, yes...sort of. You see, a lot of people, especially newbies to internet marketing, are daunted and overwhelmed by the idea of promoting the "internet marketing" idea.

How lucky that the three lucky winners of the latest competition, along with Kyle and Carson, have compiled their notes from their 3-day-intensive, have called it Vegas Confidential, and are allowing new members who join to receive a copy of Vegas Confidential. This is for a limited time, the next 500 people who join (from April 2nd), will be entitled to a copy. The good news is that if there is a referral through any of my links, then I too will be eligible for a copy! NB: I think the time line for it has expired for new members...however if you join, and then get one other person to join as a member, then you as an existing member will receive a copy of Vegas Confidential. Wealthy Affiliate is very easy to promote, take a look at this blog! I also have a squidoo lens on it here, if you would like more detail

I have just been in the forum reading about the Vegas Confidential promotion, and I can't believe all the whiners in there! No joke! I wouldn't normally bag other people, but part of the reason for doing this post is to show anyone, prove to anyone, that promoting in the Internet Marketing niche is not hard. I won't say it's easy, but hey - does this post look like it was hard to compile? Not to mench I have a 60wpm typing speed! But seriously folks, this is just a blog, and here I am, promoting Internet Marketing.

So what are you waiting for then? Go check it out now at Wealthy Affiliate!

Time Sensitive Offer - Get Adwords Free!

I received an email from the guys over at Wealthy Affiliate today, letting me know about a Special Offer, only valid up until Tuesday 20th August. Kyle & Carson are giving away their amazing ebook Beating Adwords for those that join the Wealthy Affiliate community.

Now although I've been there for a little while, I only just purchased Beating Adwords tonight, and read it, and I think it's a really great deal. Beating Adwords alone costs $67.00 so you'll be $67.00 richer than me if you join by Tuesday! And cut down your learning curve immensely! To live and to learn..

Apparently there are those 'gurus' out there bagging the newbies that are blogging about Internet Marketing, like I am. Hey I don't profess to be any guru, it's more of a 'hey come share my journey as I learn and blog about what works for me and what doesn't, what I think are good deals both free and those that I am affiliated with. Hopefully others will learn and perhaps be inspired. I know I was and still am when I read newbie journeys in this. Because it Did sound like Rocket Science at the start...and newbies will tend to not speak the mc-jargon!

Oh, I've written up a detailed review of Wealthy Affiliate HERE.
Anyway, if you are ever over at WealthyAffiliate one day, drop by my WASpace and say G'day!

Focus Focus Focus

I wish it was my middle name. I think ADD is though...lol. Apart from having the attention span of a gnat, I am learning the value of focus. The trouble with internet marketing is I want to know it all (now), do it all (now) and when I flap my wings around, nothing much actually gets achieved.

I'm also realising that the more I know, the more I realise I don't know in this game. Ohhh there is so much to learn! And I'd just love to learn how to code and make pretty templates! But there will be time later for all that, why waste time learning it now when I can outsource it? There is a lesson here peeps, - learn to outsource. Yes that includes me too. We all seem to be afflicted with this desire for control, to learn it all from the ground up...and waste amazing amounts of time doing so. Repeat after me...outsource, outsource, outsource. Earn your first sale or two, and turn the money over into outsourcing - this will free your time up to do something you do enjoy - internet marketing-wise, don't go running off to play golf now, ok!

So I guess I should put my money where my mouth is and outsource something. What? Mmmm, ummm, I'll get back to you on that. Perhaps a website. I might go and purchase one ready-made. This will save me the time of creating it - just ensure the affiliate links are in, and go promote it! Of course this means having done the research already, so you know the topic is a viable one.

My First Website!

Wowee! It wasn't so hard after all..because I'm using Site Rubix
which is free within my Wealthy Affiliate membership. What I did was set up a Review Website, reviewing products that are available for purchase over the internet.

I'm also in the middle of creating another website using Site Rubix but am nowhere near finished yet! This one is more personal..based on something I have a bit of a passion for. It's actually quite a lot of fun, just takes a bit of time to learn and implement, let alone creating content for the site.
Phew! I'll let you know when it's ready..

Also looking into something called website flipping. Sounds like I'm gonna have to learn html after all. HTML is the programming language used in programming today. How times have changed since I studied Computer Science in Year 12/12th Grade...where I then could program in something called Turbo Pascal. On those podgy little Apple Macs back when it was green text on a black background. Of course then I fell under a rock for the next 10 years or so as far as computers went!

Oh and I'm also learning PPC marketing - Pay Per Click - the Ads you get on the Right Hand Side when you do a google search. Not sure if that includes the Sponsored (Paid) Ads on the top of the page but assume it does. You pay a set price when someone clicks on your ad. Hopefully the website ("landing page") is relevant enough for the person to follow through to the merchant's page and make a purchase!

How do I get my site indexed?

I'm glad you asked!

This I have learnt means your websites, your blogs, squidoo lenses, hub pages, and anything else I can't think of right now.
For the past 2 nights I have been submitting all my goodies to google and yahoo. Tomorrow I will submit them to msn. What goodies? My blogs, my squidoo lenses, top-level domain names I own.

I will also have to submit to the website directories. This could get interesting. Consistency and patience is the game. And you thought "wax on, wax off" was laborious!

As I learn more I am seeing the benefits of out-sourcing. Especially when one must still go to one's day job! I will look into it more..

How to NOT create trust with the end user

I've been doing some spying lately...seeing how others are doing it. What I have discovered has me seeing red. I see too many marketers out there just worrying about where they appear in the search engines. Take this last example...I sussed out what others were doing to promote the same clickbank item I am promoting. Sure enough, I landed on a squeeze page. (That's a page where you have to give your email addy to get a freebie ABC or XYZ...and they will market to you now til the cows come home, and then some).

So...off I went to peruse the free report. It wasn't very good. Anyways...after immediately unsubscribing, I went back to the site, now the squeeze page had my email addy, it let me in. Mmmm. Choice. Nice. Note the sarcasm?
The website was just a box in the middle with google ads, and links on the page that were totally unrelated. Click on those, lo and behold, more google ads. NO CONTENT!!!

Perhaps I'm being to harsh, perhaps it's still under construction. (Why let it be seen live then?). But it created absolutely no trust for me the end user, and left me running for them thar hills. However to their credit, I believe they were just doing what they had learned somewhere dodgy.

As a further snipe, I couldn't work out what they were selling/promoting, until the end of the free report. Even that was a guess, just a picture of a book with no call to action like Click Here etc.

And to think...a year ago when surfing...I kept finding Articles..and all I could think of was Why on earth are people writing Articles?! Me get it now...

How to Make Money Online with Honest Riches

This is the very first e-book I bought on the subject of Internet Marketing, by Holly Mann. Since I bought it I have read it a dozen times, been sidetracked, bought other e-books all proclaiming some secret, and come full circle back to it. You can read a Review of Honest Riches that I wrote here.. Or even go and check out Honest Riches yourself!

Today I have been reading forums, although not productive it certainly irons out a few wrinkles. Sometimes it's just the way someone else will explain something, and suddenly that piece of the jigsaw fits, makes sense. I take notes all the time, then compile my goodies into notebooks. I like simplicity and a list, so I just keep breaking down tasks or learning into small chunks. When I'm not grasping something, I switch the computer off for the night, sleep on it and then see if it makes sense in the morning. This stops the dreaded panic and overwhelm that I read so often in the forums. Learn to walk before you run. I've been walking since September, now I'm ready to sprint! But treat it like a cross-country run ok! Pace yourself so you don't burn out.
